Titus Wilson is a commercial printing business that has been based in Kendal for over 100 years. Its main output is books and manuals, often with large print runs of each document.
All print going out to customers needs to be of a high quality but there is also a need for rapid proof printing where speed is more important. The business’s reputation is also built on accurate scheduling, so its printers need to be absolutely reliable.
The challenge
Stuart Ross of Titus Wilson approached MB Digital asking for a review of its current printing machinery and advice on how best to meet the anticipated needs of the business in the next 3-5 years.
The solution
Danny Askew and Mal Bland worked with Stuart to explore the detailed needs of the business and suggested a range of three different machines to give Titus Wilson the quality and efficiency that they need for a range of different tasks.
- Konica Minolta C250i 25ppm (page per minute) day-to-day office printer
- Konica Minolta C450i 45ppm printer for proof work where the emphasis is on checking formats rather than high quality printing
- A specialist digital printer for high volumes of work, including colour (C3070L colour system) and a system that will integrate with other Titus Wilson finishing machinery
